Presentation Guidelines

Oral Presentation

  • You can find your session online in the program.
  • The time slot for every oral presentation is strictly 20 minutes (12 minutes for the industrial session). We recommend to have a maximum of 17 minutes (or 10 min for the industrial session) for presentation, and use the rest for Q&A.
  • Please bring your presentation on a USB drive. We recommend you use our presentation computer for your talk.
  • As the schedule is very tight, your presentation must be transferred to the presentation computer before the session starts (e.g., 10-20 minutes earlier).
  • The presentation computer will run an English Windows 7 with MS Office Powerpoint 2013, Adobe Acrobat Reader, Open Office, MediaPlayerClassic, VLC player. It also has Internet access. (Please note that we have updated the MS Office from 2007 to 2013.)
  • The screen resolution will be 1024 x 768 px.

Poster Presentation

  • All the posters will be presented in the interactive sessions (10:40-11:40, and 15:20-16:00) in the second conference day (15 November 2016).
  • Please prepare a poster (maximum A0 size in portrait orientation) and bring it with you to the symposium. The poster walls are about 2 m high and 1 m width.
  • Adhesive tapes will be provided to fix the poster on the wall.
  • At the beginning of the interactive sessions, you will be asked to give a one minute summary to highlight your work in front of your poster. Please check the program to see when your one minute summary has been allocated to (10:40-11:40 or 15:20-16:00).
  • The poster sessions will be held in conjunction with the coffee breaks, thus it is recommended to be present in front of your poster at those breaks.
  • The posters must be fixed on the poster wall by 10:00 AM on 15 November 2016. You can leave it until the end of the conference.

Showcases

  • All the showcases will be presented in the interactive sessions (10:40-11:40, and 15:20-16:00) in the second conference day (15 November 2016).
  • You will be allocated a small round table and a poster wall. You can use your own computer for demonstration (sorry, no projector will be provided), as well as bring a poster to present your ideas.
  • For the poster, please refer to the above guideline.
  • At the beginning of the interactive sessions, you will be asked to give a one minute summary to highlight your work in front of your poster. Please check the program to see when your one minute summary has been allocated to (10:40-11:40 or 15:20-16:00).
  • The interactive sessions will be held in conjunction with the coffee breaks, thus it is recommended to be present in front of your poster/round table at those breaks.
  • You should set up everything by 10:30 AM on 15 November 2016. You can then leave your poster until the end of the conference.
